Spring flowers abound in my garden ...

I love spring so much. There is a gorgeous bird nest in one of my trees ... the birds are hanging out on top of my fence and feasting on my feeder ... the stage is set for the hummingbirds to arrive ... and my flowers are beginning to bloom ... it is so beautiful! Life is good in southwest Louisiana.

Welcome spring!

Friday is the day that I try to step back from my church duties and just "be." Today, nature beckoned me -- the weather is gorgeous with a cool breeze and warm sun. Lucy and I went up to Niblett's Bluff and walked and gazed and relaxed and, of course, took a few pictures. I love that shot of Lucy reaching out her tongue and licking the moisture off the reeds.

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day

The United Methodist Women hosted a St. Patrick's Day dinner party, complete with music and dance straight from Ireland (by way of Vinton and Starks, LA). Most of us had never eaten Corned Beef and Cabbage, and well, we were less than optimistic about the meal. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we actually liked it. The entertainment was provided by Don O'McCaughey, Don O'Futch, and Matt and Felicia O'Burke. The beautiful Irish dancer is Ariana McCaughey. What a talented family those McCaughey's are!
